Mt. Carmel girls win

Mt. Carmel's teams had a successful road trip last week, with the girls taking first and the boys second at the Moreau Invitational in Hayward.

The girls scored 32 points to best second-place Sultana of Hesperia.  Sultana is third-ranked in the state in Division II. Ashley Dere and Karen Vasko finished two-three to lead the Sundevils.  Janet Mulvey was sixth, and Manal Yamount was tenth.

The boys scored 61 points, just behind winner Buchanan (56). Top Sundevils were Mike Zahalan (8th) and Alan Aradanas (9th).
