San Luis Obispo:

Torrey girls hot

Torrey Pines girls had a good day at the San Luis Obispo Invitational, on October 17.
They won the large schools race with 36 points, ahead of Peninsula (52) and Arroyo Gradne (71).  Peninsula is the state's ninth ranked school in Division I.
Camille Dredge won a close duel with a PenHi girl to take first in 19:09 for the 3.1-mile course.
Julie Komosinski (3rd,19:35), Kathy Read (6th, 19:57), and Jackie Appel (7th, 20:04) all ran well.  The next pack consisted of Laura Alessio (22nd, 21:10), Dorothy Trogler (23rd, 21:11) and Krista Romley (24th, 21:12).  If one of those girls makes a break through by year's end, Torrey will be doubly tough.|
